Whenever a company rebrands itself, the same pattern is ritualistically repeated:
The marketing VP publishes a self-absorbed blog post about the brilliance of his or her design process.
The customers who read it wonder why they should care.
Well, Drishti just rebranded itself. We have a new logo. We have a new look. We have a new website.
But I’ll spare you the subtleties of the color choices and the geometric cleverness of the icon. Because the design process doesn’t matter to our manufacturing customers. But what you should care about is what this new logo represents: Another signal of Drishti’s enterprise scalability.
In fact, you can link this branding milestone to the recent announcement about our CEO. The timing is actually coincidental, but in both cases, the words of our founder and now-Chairman, Dr. Prasad Akella, ring true. It’s about “building our vision to scale, helping our large enterprise customers see value faster and ensuring they benefit significantly from what we do.”
Drishti’s original branding was developed when we were an eight-person startup. The design process was a pure Silicon Valley cliche: We hired a friend-of-a-friend to design it, Prasad and I picked the colors ourselves and we even enlisted our spouses and children to vote on the finalists. Our website came to be from a similar ethos: namely, I designed it and built it myself, not because I’m a great designer or programmer but because that’s what startups do.
In the years since, Drishti has matured. From two customers to more than 20. From 17 cameras deployed to many multiples of that number. From eight employees to more than 100. Our customer base now includes the most respected manufacturers in the world. We have expanded and structured our entire organization around serving enterprise-scale customers, from security and privacy to delivery and training. We have become an enterprise software company in every aspect except for our brand and website.
As of now, that element has caught up, as well.
So, as a customer, why should you care about our new logo? Because it’s one more signal that Drishti can deliver at the scale of your enterprise.
